If for any reason you may be worried about a warrant being out for your arrest, whether it be from unpaid parking tickets or missing a court date, the stress of wondering if and when it will happen can be a lot to deal with. If you are finding yourself in this type of situation, here are a few steps to take that can save a lot of anxiety, embarrassment as well as money.

Contact a bail bondsman to do a search

The very first step to take if you are concerned about whether or not there is a warrant out for you is to contact a bail bondsman who has the ability to search and confirm whether or not there is actually a warrant out and if so, what it is for. This way you know for sure and if there is one, you know have more insight on what you can do about it.

Depending on the severity of the charge, consider posting bond proactively

If the pending charge is something not too serious such as unpaid tickets, you may just be able to pay the bond ahead of time and avoid any other ramifications. However, if the charges are more severe, this may not be an option.

If more serious, see what options are and if it is possible to avoid arrest

As said, if the charges are the type that you cannot simply pay a fine for, it still does not mean that there are not actions you can do ahead of time to minimize your chances of a surprise arrest. This may require you working with a bail bondsman or a lawyer to help negotiate a surrender with the courts but judges will take into account the fact that you are trying to be responsible and proactive in regards to a  warrant.

Overall, not knowing if you even have a warrant out is half the battle but once that is figured out, there are absolutely things that can be done to avoid impromptu arrests or possibly even avoid arrest altogether.
